Lucas Seilhymer
Lucas Seilhymer has served as Executive Director of Mission House since 2023. Originally from Illinois, he brings extensive nonprofit leadership and community service experience, having previously served as CEO of Project Success of Vermilion County and Executive Director of CASA of Vermilion and Edgar Counties. Lucas holds a Bachelor of Science in Financial Planning from the University of Illinois and has been actively involved in civic leadership, including serving as a City Councilman in Georgetown, Illinois, Past President of the Danville Rotary, and a current member of the Rotary Club of Palm Valley. His passion for community impact began during his time as an AmeriCorps VISTA, where he saw the power of engaged communities supporting those most in need. He was drawn to Mission House’s mission of serving everyone, every day, and values the organization’s close-knit team and meaningful impact in the Beaches community. Outside of work, Lucas enjoys golfing and fishing.
Michael Cousins
Michael Cousins joined Mission House in 2026. He brings with him several years of homeless services experience. Before joining Mission House, Michael worked at Sulzbacher Jacksonville, where he was fortunate enough to serve in multiple roles, helping him diversify his experiences. From case management to operations, Michael has made a career out of putting the clients we serve at the forefront of what he does. As a lifelong resident of the Jacksonville area, Michael’s sole purpose is to help give back to the city he calls home. He believes that a better Jacksonville begins with empowering its most vulnerable people.
Leah Munson
Leah Munson joined Mission House in July 2026 as the Director of Development, supporting fundraising initiatives through events and grant writing. Originally from Massachusetts, she attended Central Connecticut State University for both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Leah has always had a passion for helping others and is dedicated to supporting Mission House’s vision. As a new Florida resident, she enjoys being on the water, including scuba diving.
Megan Bloomquist
Megan Bloomquist joined Mission House in September 2024 and serves on the development team, supporting administrative operations and volunteer coordination. She attended Auburn University and brings a long-standing connection to Mission House—her family has known and volunteered with the organization since she was in middle school. Originally from Connecticut, Megan has called Florida home since she was 11. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her Pomeranian, Maui or reading a book at the beach.
Joyce Trotter
Joyce Trotter has been part of Mission House’s team for four years. Originally from Petersburg, Virginia, and New London, Connecticut, she brings experience from Mayo Clinic HIMS, youth program volunteering, and church leadership. Joyce has training in medical records terminology and scanning and has been actively involved in youth programs at the Blue Cypress Community Center. She loves working with children and enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Bandit, a Catahoul Hound, and Nala, a Chihuahua.
Clinic
Mandy Hampton
Mandy Hampton has been with the Mission House’s team for seven years, making her the longest-tenured staff member. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, she brings experience from veterinary clinics as a vet tech, office manager, referral coordinator, and veterinarian care coordinator. Mandy joined Mission House soon after moving to the area, initially interviewing for a front desk role but stepping into the clinic volunteer coordinator position.
Abby Kelly, PA-C
Abby Kelly, PA-C, has been with the Mission House Clinic for two years, providing primary care services and routine follow-up in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Internal Medicine team. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Abby earned her Bachelor of Science in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology from the University of Florida and her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University. Mission House is her first full-time role after graduate school, and she was drawn to the clinic by the opportunity to care for and build meaningful relationships with its patient population, who have welcomed her warmly and expressed deep appreciation for the clinic’s staff and volunteers.
Abi Hernández-Carias
Abi Hernández-Carias joined Mission House in August 2024 as part of the Clinic Team. Originally from Miami, she brings experience as a certified administrative medical assistant extern, volunteer medical assistant, and Spanish interpreter/translator. Abi holds a B.S. in Health Science with a Spanish minor and a Spanish for Health Professionals Certificate. She was drawn to Mission House after meaningful interactions with patients during her interviews and values the opportunity to advocate for and give back to her community. Her favorite color is blue, and she even helped take some of the clinic’s staff headshots.
Hanna Sacoto Weir, CCMA
Hanna Sacoto Weir joined Mission House in 2026 as a Medical Assistant in the Clinic. Originally from Ecuador, she brings experience as both a Medical Assistant and Certified Nursing Assistant. Matilde was drawn to Mission House by the clinic’s mission and values the teamwork and dedication of the staff. Outside of work, she serves as a soccer field marshal.
Homeless Services
Juanita Bynum
Juanita Bynum has been with Mission House since 2023. Originally from Mississippi, she brings a strong background in crisis and trauma support and holds a master’s degree in Crisis and Trauma. Juanita was drawn to Mission House by its commitment to providing meaningful services and support to the unhoused community, and she is passionate about helping individuals access the resources they need. In addition to her work, Juanita is also a published author.
Doug Orange
Doug Orange recently joined Mission House as a Crisis Care Case Manager, bringing 30 years of experience in social services with organizations including Sulzbacher, Block by Block, Inspire to Rise, and Aging True, as well as running his own nonprofit. A lifelong Jacksonville, Florida resident, Doug was drawn to Mission House by his long-standing admiration for its mission and the impact it has on the community. He graduated from Englewood High School in 1985 and, outside of work, enjoys playing pool.
Tonja Mckuhn
Tonja Mckuhn has been with Mission House’s Crisis Care team for four years. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, she has extensive experience in social services, working with youth in foster care, women transitioning from prison, survivors of domestic violence, individuals with intellectual disabilities, and the elderly. Tonja was drawn to Mission House by her passion for serving the homeless community and enjoys offering hope and encouragement to every person she greets. Outside of work, she loves cooking, meeting new people, and trying new foods.
Marsha Bradshaw
Marsha Bradshaw has been with Mission House for six months, serving as Kitchen Coordinator and Crisis Care Assistant. Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, she spent over 45 years as a business owner and previously volunteered at Mission House in the kitchen and Kulik’s Closet. After retiring, Marsha decided to continue serving her community, bringing her compassion and support to people experiencing homelessness. A fun fact about her—she can drive a tractor!
Shawna Buchmeier
Shawna Buchmeier has been with Mission House for one year as a Crisis Care Assistant. Originally from Steger, Illinois, she brings experience in customer service and was drawn to Mission House by a desire to lend a helping hand to those in need. Outside of work, Shawna enjoys music, horror movies, and antique cars.
